Front end issues, what do you think it is?

Alright, my car has been parked for quite a while because of this, so I really want to get it fixed. If I drive it, I get a pretty bad thump/clank from the front drivers side wheel.
I pulled the wheel and the hub was loose, so I pulled the dust cover and tightend the nut and I wasn't able to jiggle it anymore, so I put the wheel back on and tested it. I drove about 50 feet, and it started doing it again. Put the car up on the jack, and I could wiggle the whole wheel.

Someone suggested that maybe it was a bearing issue. Any ideas?

Take it out and see. I think it is a bad bearing but until you take it out, you will never know. If it is, the problem is solved. If not, you needed to repack your bearings anyway.

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me too.

With the wheel off does just the rotor move or does the whole spindle move?

If the whole spindle moves it's most likely a ball joint.

Is the strut and mount ok?
