found a nice 3rd gen locally

i found a white 88 iroc, 55k miles. its for sale for 2450. it looks like a nice clean car. the guy who came out to talk to me was an old man, so i think it may have been his weekend driver. perfect interior, wheel wells were in better shape than my 97 grand ams.

the guy was unsure if it was a 305 or 350. i said lb9 and he looked confused

anywho, its got a 70 mph guage i think...if that matters? what should i look for to see its options. i know there are rpo codes, where can i find them? i plan to write the vin, and find the rpo codes (owners manual?) and check out all the info.

i'm goin back tomorrow for a test drive, what should i look for?

if it passes my expectations its gettin checked out by a mechanic, then its goin in my driveway. it will be my first f-body after about 3 years of wanting one desperately

55k original miles? For $2450? That's a steal right there! RPO Codes can be found under the console lid. I think it was in 1990 they changed to the little storage compartment in the trunk. You can run all the codes/vin at www.thirdgen.org

I've never seen a 70mph gauge? Only 85, 115, and 145. I know you've been looking desperately for an F-body and all I have to say is Good Luck

Congratulations on your new car in advance

Dude, scoop that car right up. Unless its got a manual tranny it should be the L98. And if its manual it will be the lb9. And with that many miles u better buy it before someone else does. Good Luck!

Blue book don't mean **** on these cars. They are the 69 Z28 of the future. Look at the 8th position in the VIN, it will be a F for 305 or a 8 for 350.

This car will be worth a lot more one day than what you're paying for it.
