Re: Fog Lights

I don't think their are harnesses if the car didn't come from the factory with foglights. Meaning you have to go to the parts store, get some wires, a switch, and a fuse thingy.

Re: Fog Lights

My 86 Z-28 did not come with fog lights but I went and bought an OEM so it would look stock. I went to install them and guess what I find? The wire harness was already there. The only thing I needed was a relay to put under the dash and the OEM fog light switch and it worked. Moral of the story, check under the engine compartment on the driver side all the way to the front of the car, you may/may not find a set of fog light harness.

Re: Fog Lights

I just put Fog lights on mine and I found all the wires under the dash, Just pluged in the relay into the socket that already there and pluged in the factor switch and fuse. But, I haven't been able to find the wires up front in the car yet. I know the wires are supose to run down the driver side and come out under the air filters by that yellow air bag sensor thing.

ZRS, when you found the wires under the hood did they have the connectors on them?

Yes I had the wires and w/connectors on mine. The only thing I needed to do was put the relay fuse, OEM fog light switch and an IROC-Z front grill.

Re: Fog Lights

Ok I check the wires under the air filter and everything looks pluged in so im guessing the fuse might be blown. Only problem is wheres the fuse at for it i looked under at the fuse box and i didnt see anything marked fog lights. So anyone know where the fuse is for it ?

Re: Fog Lights

Check your car manual for the location of the fuse in the fuse box. Also check the relay which is located under the driver dash but not actually in the fuse box.

Re: Fog Lights

In mine, I had to connect the fuse and the relay to make that end work. Then, if you notice the harness goes into the firewall and on the other end is a weatherpack connector. 30-40 wire harness. I found the right one and hooked it up to the fog lights. If you are lucky, there is already a harness. If not, you have to find it. Then you have to get the right switch for the dash. When I was done, mine looked like it was factory.

Re: Fog Lights

Where can I get some nice replacements for the factory fog lights? I have them on my car but they do not work and one of them is cracked anyway. I have all new lights so the dull fog lights that don't work kind of detract from the front of the car. Should I go for NOS and pay the extra bucks or find some aftermarket ones (suggestions for aftermarket ones?)?

Re: Fog Lights

Weird, My wire harness hase the socket for the relay and switch under the dsh, but doesn't have the plugs for the lights under the hood. The only wire in the harness up front are for the headlights and parking lights, no extra wires. I know the hot wire is supose to come staight from the switch, but witch wire is it (color)?

Does anybody know where I can buy the plugs for the fog light bulds. My local part stores don't carry them for that style bulb.
