Flowmaster Race muffler on 3rd gen??
Flowmaster Race muffler on 3rd gen??
Im wanting to run either dual or a single Flowmaster 1 chamber race muffler on my 3rd gen. Anyone done this yet? If so was it nice and LOUD??
I know it only has a single exit out so I wont have dual pipes out the back but thats okay with me.
Thanks

Re: Flowmaster Race muffler on 3rd gen??
I tried the 4" 2 chamber Race Muffler Flowmaster makes and it was very loud on a non-stock engine. No room for it under the car so now I am doing a $" Dynatech with a 4" cone insert to help kill some noise. The 1 chamber should sound good but I doubt anyone here has done that yet. Power-wise, I hear the Outlaw bullet mufflers they make are the best way to go in a true race setup.

If you are talking about the bullet type mufflers those are great. They have that hot rod sound to it and a low rumble at idle that is audible from 20-30ft away....Now going WOT or getting on it hard the sound is ruthless, audible from maybe 200+ft away. I have a crappy bullet muffler on my 350, single out the rear and it sounds great - what i plan to do now that im buying a 1989 formy with dual cats is put on dual bullet mufflers like you want behind the cats, then ill put a pipe infront of each one of the rear tires. That will give it that Roush style exhaust, but on the F-body...only worry is clearance issues though.

A friend of mine had an old Flowmaster 1 chamber muffler on his '91 LO3 camaro. He had it that and a dump before the rear axle, and it was quite loud
Which muffler are you going to use (I haven't seen the one he has for sale in ages)?
