Flame throwers?!

Hey!
Does anyone know where to get the flame throwers that make the flames go out of the tips in the back? They may be called flame shooters but I'm not sure!? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Robin

check custom hot rod magazines...typically it's just a plug and wire that's switched. it is illegal on the street though, but plenty of older cars use them at shows.

Don't forget out cars have plastic bumpers. If you go shooting flames out your tail pipes there is going to be some melting issues in your future...

Just do it yourself. I had two coils laying around and ran a switched power wire to them. Then i mounted them above the tail pipes. Tapped the tail pipes with spark plugs and just hooked them to the coils with 2 coil wires. Very trick.

It not on either of my camaros either, for obvious reasons.

ok, could someone please explain to me the best that they can exactly how this operation works. i was thinking of trying to do this to my 83 z28 but i want to know the easiest and most dirt cheap way to do it. so do i just drill a hole in my tailpipes to mount a spark plug in and then flip a lil switch to feed power to them whenever i desire? does it just burn the leftover fuel and oxygen from the motor? how do i get the spark plugs hooked up to actually spark? i'm very curious on the subject but don't know anything about it, could one of you car wizzes help me out? thanks
Dustin

Dude, they just got done saying if you do this on your Z28, you're going to melt down your bumpers...

I guarantee the cool points you gain from the flames will NOT make up for your car looking like you backed into a barbecue pit.

Most kits come with the boxes to hook everything up, a relay, push button of some sort and then say you need 2 spark plugs and 2 coils. Excuse me for being an idiot (new to learning about cars) but what sort of coils?! Even if a person tried to rig something home-made themselves they'd still need to know about that.

Here's a site with flame thrower info

well, knightrider... b4 you decide to be so rude about everything you should maybe consider that i don't have stock pipes as well as the fact that you do not know everything, obviously. i was planning for flamethrowing tailpipes like this ahead of time when i installed my custom exhaust and my chrome tips hang almost 6 inches beyond the bumper, making it almost impossible to burn it. so try to be a little more polite next time, rather than jumping to conclusions. now, anybody with something more sensible to say have any hints?

They absolutly will not work if you have a Cat ,and I'm pretty sure that you may have problems if you are running fuel injection also. Used to run them things in the '60's when cars were made of that stuff called STEEL.

I was more making a joke then jumping to conclusions. I never made the assumption that I knew everything, I was just reaffirming what the others said. Lighten up.

Either you are lying or you are a moron. 6 inches beyond the bumper is going to be hideous! ANyway, your exhaust is not flammable thanks to your catalyctic converter. So.... you need a kit that shoots spare gas and that a spark plug to ignite it.

couldn't you re-route the gas fume/vapor return line from the intake to the back of the car. you'd be wasting gas but i think it'd work. also i know most of the "flames" you see in the movies are fueled by propane injected into the tailpipes and the ignited by an extra coil. i think they did it on monster garage one time too...
