First mods for TPI??

Hi, I'm wondering which mods i should start out with on my new formula, current mods are in the sig-long tube headers are already on the way, but i'm not too familiar with the TPI's so i need some advice on where i should put my money to get the most gains.

I was thinking about ordering a cam, one that works with my chip- would this be a good idea?

What about the rest of your exhaust?

Check out the tech articles on www.thirdgen.org . There are lots of suggested mods there. If it were up to me, I would wait until you rebuild the engine, then add in the good things like a cam and heads. For now, concentrate on little things like the intake manifold and plenum.

Pull the hypertech chip and get one that is custom made for your motor.....plug and play programs are never as good as a custom one.

Headers are a good start. There are a few cheap mods like throttlebody bypass and porting you plenum. Gears is a must (3.2x or 3.4x for TPI). You might want to look into getting a Holley Stealthram, they seem to be the best bang for the buck for an intake. You will have to get a chip burnt if you do get one though.

Go checkout thirdgen.org like Kevin said, you will find all of the info and more over there.

TPI's are torque monsters. Only problem with them is the top end. The TPI intake plenum and runners restrict to much air for top end. Ive taken a 86 custom Turbo Supra (13.9 1/4 mile) off the line but he took me right after cause i had nothing above 4500rpms. Do the stealthram. Best bang for $600. I siamesed my runners but in my opinion all that time i put into it i should have bought the stealth. Well I am this winter Good luck
