Post Fiberglass Hoods

Hey guys. I really need to work on my hood clerance. My options are fiberglass hood or fiberglass hoodscoop. Hoods are expensive, but hood scoops are a pain in the but, I did one before, hated it and it still costs a fair bit of money by the time you get the scoop, fiberglass, bondo, sandpaper, primer, time, etc. Does anyone know of a place that sells decent fiberglass hoods for a '88 Trans Am for decent money. I was looking at the Ram Air hoods from fasttoys, but they are pricey and I don't know how well it would work with a carburator. Any help would be great. Thanks.
