Fault in Quad Driver Module
Fault in Quad Driver Module
I ran my little diagnostic test on my 93 Z, and it came back as a Fault in Quad Driver Module.
OK, thanks for that bit......but does anyone know what a quad driver module is? What do i do to fix it? ANy info is greatly appreciated :-)
PS: Yes I know that my car isn't a third gen....its the only year fourth gen that uses the same method of diagnosing.

The quad driver is internal to your computer, It`s job is basically the same as a relay. The driver however never see`s a load like a true relay. I am unsure of how many and what devices your computer quad controls but hence the name "quad" its capable of completing 4 circuts. Most cars that I have repaired with this problem usaually utilize all four drivers. You will need a "real" scanner to find what device is acting up, some cars list codes as quad driver "a" fault or "b" and so on, in this case you can trace it down yourself. I can fax or upload a schematic of the possibilities that can make that code appear, if you like. Most times a small selenoid or switch is the culrpret.. a/c compressor, egr sel., purge sel., fan switch and so on..Not saying it cant happen but I never seen this problem repaired by changing out the ecm.
