a girl at work told me she was drving behind me and my exhaust stinks. i have a bad cold and cant tell. what could be this problem? burning coolent? my coolent is very black but it was when i bought the car.

 

Maybe there is a head gasket leak. Smell the exhaust. If it is kinda sweetish, you have a leak from the head gasket. Is the coolant black or oily? If it is black, you may need to flush it to be sure. If it is oily, you have a head gasket leak. Also, if the exhaust stinks of say rotten eggs, you are running very rich or maybe you have a bad cat.
