1988 5.7 GTA I would like to put a Flowmaster 40 series dual out muffler on, so I would need a new pipe and tail pipes. Who make a mandrel bent intermediate pipe and decent tail pipes?

The dual out is actually an 80 series. Your stock pipes will work with some reducers. But it can be a pain in the ***, so I suggest letting an exhast shop do it. Will save on headaches. THe work isnt actually hard, but I had a hard time finding the right reducers, to make the outlets match the tail pipe diameter.

Hmm. I was under the impression from Flowmaster's catalog that there is a dual out 40 series with 3" inlet which is what I thought I needed. If it is a 80 series, I will just order one of their cat backs. But, I really wanted a 40 series.... Anyone else?

I just checked, and the 40 series dual outlet is not crossflow, which is what we need to run pipes in the stock location, the 80 series is the only flowmaster I see that is crossflow

Ouch. You're right. So, it's either single out or 80 series. Hmm...

Dynomax makes mufflers with 3 inch inlets and 3 inch outlets for f bodies. It's their Ultraflow muffler. I love mine.
