Question Ethylene Glycol VS. Dexcool

I'm redoing my entire cooling system while my engine is out and I am planning on upgrading to Dexcool. I know the benefits of going to Dexcool but are there any benefits with sticking with Ethylene Glycol. Another thing, I'm just curious, I know it's bad to mix the two together but I'm curious as to why. I've heard different stories such as: They gel up, They heat up, chemical reaction eats your cooling system components...etc. Anybody know what really happens?

I've also thought about Evans NPG but for the money I figure I'll save that for when I do my swap . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Only for sure negative on the dexcool is that you can't use it on old style lead radiators. It attacks the lead.

AFAIK, Dexcool is more expensive and you do need more of it to work. Not really sure but I don't use the stuff. What are the advantages?

dont use the dex cool the only advantage is that it is long life.
dex cool fumes are toxic and will make you feel sick.i work in a shop and we always recommend flushing and putting in the green stuff.
