engine combo

hey i have the 350 and the 305. i would like to rebuild both engines. ok see how this sounds--305--- KB hypereutectic 10:1 pistons, cam with somewhere around .460 lift, SLP runners, 58cc heads??? 64cc vortech heads?? (I'm going to make around 350 hp) 52 mm throttle body with air foil, headers, good exhaust, 3.45 gears.

now for the 350--- KB hypereutectic pistons either 9.7:1 or 10.2:1. ??? vette heads 58cc???vortech 64cc heads???? LT4 hotcam .525/.525 lift 112 LS stock intake SLP runners, 52mm throttle body, headers, borla cat back.

I want desent gas mileage with tons of power! ...I need the best combo for that. they are bothe daily drivers but are not actually driven daily. I go to college so a lot of miles are not put on it weekly. about 190miles on a good week. Feel free to recomend any other parts u have used or think will work. looking for 12's out of the 350 and lower 13's out of the 305.

For the 350 I'd go with Forged pistons, AFR 190cc heads and Accel 74219 camshaft with 1.6 RR. Accel Superram intake kit with 58mm TB and SLP 1 3/4 headers and SLP 3 in exhaust system. Also a reprogrammed EPROM from www.fasterproms.com which makes it truely custom based on readings obtained not guesswork. 3.73 Gears. Also cheap TC with 500 above stock stall. When the tranny cooks, get it rebuilt by www.rosslertrans.com and put in a good TC then.

Specs are 219 deg duration I/O, 0.525 valve lift (0.560 with 1.6 RR) 112 deg lobe sep. That is what I used on the 350 till it became 383.

Wow I wish I had money like that to build up 2 engines at once. If you asked me honestly, I wouldn't waste my time with the 305, especially because of the 350 you have. Both seem like they will be nice setups though.

Don't use the stock intake manifold. If you're going that far with it, at least get an aftermarket manifold. An aftermarket manifold is better than a ported stock one, and then you can port the aftermarket one on top of that.

I think it will take more than that to get low 13s out of the 305, unless you got some stickies and a nice fat stall. For the 350, don't use vette heads, if money is an option, but it doesn't look that way, go with the vortech heads. AFR would be a better choice. Definatly the higher compression pistons for the 350 too.

With these setups, 190 miles would be about a full tank of gas. Probably less.
