electric hatch

Question electric hatch

i am pulling my engine and i disconnected my battery and opened my hatch manually but now i cant close the hatch. when i connected the battery again close the hatch i didnt get any power to the hatch motor and the battery is fully charged?
i have disconnected alot of the harness from teh engine does this make a difference?

Yes it does matter cause your alt makes the connection. so if you try and connect the wires together that came off the back of it may work. but just the ones the came off the nut on the back.

so hookup the battery and the alternator and the hatch should work?

does the starter need to be hooked up too?

I would try that too cause there are some componts that the current from the battery flows through to make a complete circuit.

ummm if you dont have the positive terminal of the battery attached to anything how do you expect the hatch to work....nothing should work....hence reattaching the battery isnt going to do u much good

You have to make a complete circuit, so by connecting the cables that come from the back of the alt together and the cables from the starter together, would that not complete the circuit? Let me know if i am missing anything, but i think that it should work.
