Question EGR Valve

Anyone out there have any info on replacing the EGR valve on a 305 w/TPI? I am having problems with the car and idleing. I have done other things like the adjusting the TPS sensor, IAC valve, cleaned the TB, o2 sensor and have checked for vacuum leaks. Thanks for all the help that I can get.

Did you clean the IAC housing and use a scantool to set the IAC or how did you do it. How many IAC counts did you have? Did you set the TPS after the IAC was set or vice versa?

What are you talking about cleaning the IAC housing? Are you talking the T/B? Yes I did clean the T/B and as far as setting the IAC? I am not sure again what you are talking about. How many counts? I set the TPI at .54 like the book calls for. Any more help would be thankful

I would take the IAC out of the housing and clean it. Also I would take the housing off the TB and clean that too. After that, I reassemble it and start up the car. I have an AutoXray and I use it to look at what the computer is seeing. I go to the IAC counts and adjust the TB blades with the screw till it shows 20-30 counts. If it reads 50 counts it means that the IAC is opening up more than it shoud. Therefore, you want to screw the adjust screw in. If it reads 0-20, it means you have the IAC closed and you have to screw the adjust screw out. Screw in opens up the blades and lets more air in. Screw out does the reverse.
