E-test 383

I`m building a 383 this is the plan as of now

AFR 195 70% ported
Team G single plan intake
Holley 750 Double pumper
Compcams roller cam somewhere like .500-.550 in/ex and about 250 dur @ .050 and 110 LSA
keith black flat top pistons
1 3/4" SLP or Hooker long tube headers
3" Duels w/3" high flow cats
10.5:1 compression
400 HP

now I live where they do E-testing and my car will fall under the HOT ROD class it will still be E-tested but under 1980 standards will my 383 with that setup pass or will I have to go with a duel plane with a egr and a Q-jet and a smaller cam I want 400 hp but I can live with 300-350hp

you are probably going to run some high octane pump gas in your car. which is good but also make sure the carb is properly tuned plugs, air filter ,etc is all in good condition.

i think you should be ok if you do all that

GOOD LUCK

p.s.-maybe one day you will get fuel injected

It will be a cold day in Hell before you pass a Emission Check with your set up. I would start checking to see how to go about getting a wavier for it. For one, your car is still classified as a 1985 and still subject to testing. Better start checking the Laws in your area (Canada) before building a engine and car you can not get plates for.
My Opinion.
I just had my car E-Checked in Ohio and it passed:

The law in ont canada is if your car has a different engine then it came with and is highly modded and you have the car company write you a letter saying a 1985 camaro never came with a 383ci V8 then you go under the 1980 standards as a HOT ROD I E-mailed ontario drive clean and that is what they told me. now what I need to now if I run cats will that setup pass under 1980 standards or do I have to go smaller

If I can`t pass I can always get a Chevelle or a 2nd gen

Build it and don't worry about emissions. I used to pass without a cat. Lean out the carb and increase the initial timing with some octane booster in the tank. Put in fresh plugs and change the oil. You should pass.

There are ways to fool the sniffer.
