Post E-Tec 1/4 times(finally)

Well, I finally got my Monte up to the almighty Wisconsin International Raceway today. To sum up the few runs I had, the only word that comes to mind is wow. Todays runs were done on my BFG radial TA tires, with a high humidity(sweat pouring, and I mean pouring in my eyes) 90* day. I went into today hoping for a solid 13.5 run on total street meats. To my surprise, my first run netted me a 12.907 @ 106.294. Holy crap I say, I almost pissed myself. I figured that may be about it, because it felt like a solid run, and that was way better than I expected. Run 2, it seemed to feel a little better, 12.729 @ 107.061. Good lord! NO WAY run 3 can top that. Run 3, 12.593 @ 107.758 I am in disbelief. Run 4, 12.522 @ 107.773. All I got was 4 runs(sucks), but I have hit a major wall in power. I go through the traps at 6200 RPMs, and the motor has totally flattened out by then. I gained over 4 tenths throughout the runs, and just a shade over ! ! 1 mph,and that doesnt compute. From those of you that checked out my dyno posts, remember I discovered on the dyno that the motor pukes over 5700? That is totally not noticable until you hit the 1/4 mile. While I dont really (think) that the stiffer valve springs I need are going to help my ET very much, I think there is no doubt a few MPH left in this thing. I'll keep you all updated, but all I have to say is that I am very happy with my first time out with the car. I plan to run later this month when it cools off and I have my valve springs changed. Wish me luck

Thanks, the runs were done on my 265-50-15 BFG radial T/A's. My best 60' of the runs was a 1.9.

NICE!

get some taller tires and you will be able to trap higher without trapping at too high of an rpm (if thats an issue for ya)

mid 12's is NICE

I know a guy with an Etech 350 in a first gen camaro, I've been trying to get a run in against him to see how those things go.
now i'm scared

Thanks guys,I wanna try to putz with it a little, and make some more runs with it before the tracks all close around here. I'll have my slips scanned shortly, so you all can see them for real.
