dual snorkel air cleaner on a 305 4bbl...

Will I see any noticeable difference using the dual snorkel air cleaner instead of the stock single?

probably because that single snorkel is the most restrictive thing in your intake...i would maybe even think about a open element or something..

Yes you will see a noticable difference if you switch over to the dual snorkel air cleaner. I did that when I first got my 83 and it made a good difference. However I sold that since I was short on money and got a 14x3 open element. I got more power with the open element. I would go with the open element. They are cheap and easy to get unlike the dual snorkel.

For what its worth, the dual snorkel dropped me 3 tenths of a second in the quarter mile with no other mod. I had run consisten 16.7's with my 86 LG4 bone stock all night long. Came back a month or so later with just this and ran 16.4's, her best . Its a great setup, actually tryin to sell mine since I went tpi

You could always just make one for about half the cost of buying one. I remember reading an article about how to do it years ago in Super Chevy magazine.

all you gotta do is find a dual snorkel housing, or if your good at fiberglassing i suppose you could make one..then just run some ducting like what you use on your dryer...you know that chrome looking tubing that is about 3.5 inches in diamter...some guy has that on his 347 stroked old school stang with like 500 ponies and that is how he ran his dual snorkel..he said it works awesome...an open element would prolly be the easy way out but just remember it might be worth going with a dual snorkel setup because then your getting fresh cold air instead of hot engine air....just my .02 cents..

Actually, all you'd have to do was find another "snorkel" setup at a salvage yard, cut the proper sized hole in the air cleaner housing and rivet the 2nd snorkel on. Of course you'd have to find a good way to route it, and hopfully make it look good. That wouldn't be too hard though.

Edit: That's what they did in the Super Chevy article.

i think a semi custom look is better, rather than a bunch of stock parts and trying to make it look good.....i would rather put my own touch on it....but you got the basic idea, do it which ever way you want..
