Unhappy Dual Snorkel...

hey guys i just install my dual snorkel air cleaner on my 89 camaro rs tbi my question is on the stock air cleaner inside of it where the air filter is i notice that there are two type of sensor i know one is for the vacum but the other one it has a electric plug that connects to the air cleaner????the dual snorkel doesnt have that electric sensor so that i cant connect the plug then i noticed that my check engine light comes on i know its becuz of that sensor thats not connected to the air cleaner???any help please..thanks

I'd guess it's the MAP/Baro sensor that clips in the old aircleaner on the side.

no this sensor is under the stock air assembly from my 89 camaro tbi..but on the dual snorkel air cleaner that i got it doesnt have that connector so i could connect that sensor to it????.....what do i do just leave it like that becuz it turns on my Check Engine light on....thanks

that is the mat sensor it tells the computer what the temp of the incoming air is. if you want you can drill a hole to install it or plugf it in and leve it on teh engine. at least that way you will be getting some kind of reading even if it isnt the correct one.


with it unplugged the computer is reading -40 degree F and thus throws a code

oh ok yeah i will drill a hole but now how do i take the mat sensor out from the stock air cleaner???....i dont wanna break it...thanks

i believe there is a snap ring of some sort holding it in. just examine it carfully and you should see how its held in. it should be held in from inside the air cleaner.

yeah i manage to take it off so i drilled a hole big enough to fit that sensor on the dual snorkel air cleaner so it worked fine ...thanks again for your help..
