Anything is possible with these cars. Money, Time, and Talent are some of the limiting factors.

A Carb Vortec engine swap would be easiest and possibly the best bang for the buck but an LT1 swap would reward you with much better fuel mileage($$$$ back in your pocket) and good power to start with. Increasing power in both applictations is easy with the aftermarket avaliable online or through local speed shops.

I personally would save up the funds and do some homework and do an LS1 engine swap. Find a used engine and tranny+ computer, wiring, etc... A cam swap for sure, something a bit "hotter" 11's All motor, cam only Reliability, killer gas mileage, and smooth strong power all in a sweet little package. Don't be suprized if you see me do this instead of a HUGE 600+ cube big block in the future www.thirdgenresource.com has a LOT of the parts to complete the swap. Goodluck!

Oh and wise man says budget accordingly. Then triple it to save yourself headache and time while in the middle of the whole ordeal...or something like that.

350tbi (L05) from a caprice. Almost everything should bolt right up, you need to change the knock sensor and one other things that I cannot recall. You will also need to do chip tuning. Its as close to a bolt it as you will ever get though.

lt1 can be done, but it's something i wouldn't want to do. too much of a hassle.

For too little gain. I would go with a built fuel injected setup. Say AFR heads with the Superram intake or HSR intake if you don't need to pass emmissions.
