Does anyone own the "Jongbloed" hood?

I've been looking around at hoods for a potential project, and I checked out the Jongbloed hood. It's not too bad, but the underside is very unappealing to me, as it appears to be designed for a carbed car, and looks unfinished to me.

I did a search in this forum and in the appearance section, and there were zero instances of "Jongbloed," so I thought I'd ask.

Anyone have it or know anything about it? What kind of quality is it? Anyone have a GOOD picture of it on a car? The stock photo of it on that blue car looks like complete crap and is too low resolution to see really any detail! Zero photography skills!

I've got an SS hood on my '85, so I am thinking of staying away from that for the next project.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the reply.

Right after I posted this, I headed over there and did a search. For some reason I didn't think of that first. I found a fair amount of stuff. I'm glad I did the search.

Anyway...the more I see it, the more I realize I'm not really feelin' it. It seems too rounded for a 3rd Gen. Damn...I was hoping there would be a cool hood out there, but at this point, I'm not impressed with anything outside of the SS hood I have.

We'll see what I come up with. I've got time.

Did you see the "Japanese hood" thread at TGO? I think it's a really nice hood that compliments the 3rd gen lines better than the Jongbloed IMO.

I'm not fond of straight up cowl hoods. I don't like how it interupts the lines of the car. This Cervini's hood is ugly too, IMO!

I can't find Glastek anywhere. Google doesn't find it. Is there a link you could give me?

Yeah, the Japaneese hood on TGO...I don't like that really at all. I don't mind the idea of having a reverse cowl, so to speak, but it has to be done well. The outrageous price of that hood definitely turns me off to it.

I've found very few hoods I'm fond of, not just for 3rd Gen cars, but for other F-cars as well as for other vehicles all-together. It seems to be difficult to make a tasteful yet effective aftermarket hood.

What the hell?! I did a Google search and I typed some addresses in the address bar and nothing came up. Weird!

But anyway, they've only got cowl hoods. No thanks.

All they have are cowl hoods, which I am definitely not a fan of.

I have a feeling it's going to be hard finding a hood I like.

yea as far as non cowl hoods, all you got is the SS and the ram air II hood...unless you mold on a scoop or something....theres a thirdgen camaro up here at school that molded on the scoop that is on like the shelby GT500's, like eleanor in the movie, and surprisenly it looks pretty good, and he also made it functional...

Here is a link for a company that is a town away from me. I got a spoiler from them. Good quality stuff.

Re: Does anyone own the "Jongbloed" hood?

I seen a freshly painted White Z28 next to our shop with the Jongbloed hood. Best example I've yet to see but it doesn't suit my tastes. All I can say is that it fit good from 50 feet.

I made a custom hood. I'll post pics someday. When the car runs.

a member here in my state has one and he was very unhappy with the fit and finish. we should have a design similar to the japanese hood available in the spring and iroc/z28 fiberglass version hood available shortly after.
