I am sure someone out there has bought some of those products that you pour into the car's oil or gas and it gets better gas mileage and more power, etc. I am just curious if any has found one that actually works and is worth the money? It would be nice to help my engine for very low money and no labor. Thanks.

Thats what I figuered. Atleast 1 has to work out of the hundreds out there. Its obvious too good to be true. The government should crack down on those false claims. But if anyone really believes them maybe they deserve to lose their money.

I'll look into that.

A bit off topic, but I recently had my engine "carbon cleaned". They disconnected the hoses and did all this wierd stuff. I paid $150 and my gas mileage went from 15 stop and go to 18/19, and highway went up like crazy. Before I drove to boston and back on 1/2 a tank. After the cleaning I went there and back, then drove around town to the bank and pick up a friend and it used a 1/4 tank.

I have a lot of confidence in Pro Blend oil additives. I've poured it in our race engine while on the dyno, and the rpms will go up by 100 at idle. We also had it in a jr. dragster with a 5 hp briggs engine, and one time the oil drain valve broke off at the line, and all the oil spilled out just before the car went down the track. This engine turns 8500 rpm for 1/8 mile with no oil in it. I took it apart afterwords and there was no wear at all. These made me a believer in the stuff.

you can get stp fuel injector cleaner at any semi-automotive store. If you want to get a full engine vac done just ask your mechanic and if he doesnt do it first of all get a better mechanic but just ask him if he knows anyone who does

AFAIK, the engine vac thing does an injector clean with something along the lines of gunpowder solvent. I have heard that it will make it run better and believe it if you car is old and has carbon buildup and injector crud. Also, the stuff will spray into the TB cleaning it up.

Besides that, the snake oil at Wal Mart works really well when it comes to cleaning the annoying green stuff in your wallet.

I asked LPE about whether any of that stuff works in their motors since I had one of theirs. They told me that they have a 2 yr 24000 warranty and they know you will beat on it. They asked me "Why wouldn't we recommend it if we could use it to make sure you get out of the warranty period?"

lol lord.
the only thing that we use at my house is royal purple oil (not in my car,but dads chevelle and our boat) and the other thing is Pro Long. that stuff really does work. we put it in our boat before the royal purple and we noticed better fuel economy (the boat was 34 feet long, the 1 we have now is 50 feet and it gets royal purple.)
