Post Distributor Brace Bolt Size?

I'm trying to replace the engine oil pressure switch, but I need to lift up the distibutor to get the socket wrench in there. Anyone know what size the distributor brace bolt is?

If you mean there's a special wrench for the oil pressure switch, i got a socket that fits it: 1-1/16" As far as the distributor brace bolt goes, if it needs a certain kind of wrench, let me know. Otherwise, i'll try out those two sizes. Thanks

stevem is correct. The bolt is either a 9/16 or 15mm. There is a special wrench to ease the task of loosening, or tighening of this bolt because of its obstructed location. The wrench looks like a miniature hockey stick, with the blade portion being the box end of the wrench layed flat. Different engines, different style wrenches. Mine is from snap on, but you may be able to get one from a parts store, or borrow one.

It's 9/16". You can get it loose without a distributor wrench (use a combination box wrench and take the skin off a few knuckles) but it's much easier with the right tool.

Hey guys, thanks for all the help. It was a bitch to get a good grip on the bolt with a regular 9/16 wrench, but it worked. Plus, I kept all my knuckles intact. Unfortunately, I screwed up a bit taking the dist out. Please check my newest post "Please HELP! Distributor won't go back in correctly..."
