Borla XR1 Raceline muffler with an intercooled tip. I ran with a stock exhaust system and just a 90 deg pipe out of the muffler. The tip did change the note to a lower note.

do tips make a big difference on exhaust??? because i'm gonna put dual 4.5 inch stainless tips on there, because my dad gets that pipe from work for free and free reducers and he welds them up, he makes a nice set of slash tips i tell ya!!! the best part is they last for ever cause they are stainless...anymore recommendations???

also i want an exhaust system that doesn't pop or crackle when you let off the gas....i see video's with flows and other mufflers sounding like that, i can't stand that...i got that popping sound right now with a hole in my headers, and it drives me crazy...i want a smooth flowing exhaust that doesn't pop or crack...

I had staight pipes with the factory dual cats and they sunded good, but when I put on some headers, high flow cat, and flowmaster the tone got deeper and traveled through the walls and was accutly louder in my house.

I have a 3" Dynomax Bullet. It is deep and loud.Sounds like a toned glasspack. When it pops and crackles, that is good. That means your exhaust is flowing good.I would go with a Moroso Spiral Flow if I were to do it again.

seriously?? i think that sounds like crap, i think when it does that, girls and people look at you funny cause your car is makign a wierd noise...i was gonna get an aerochamber, becuase i heard 5 videos with a kids car with that muffler and it sounds awesome..but then they said the spintech crossflow 3 inch sounds the same just louder, and it doesn't pop or crackle at all...do you guys think this is a good muffler..and do i need a 3 inch or 3.5 inch..i have a basically stock 350 outta a vette, maybe like 275 hp, but the most i would ever get outta it is 350 max, so would 3 inch exhaust pipe be good enuf??

3 inches all the way back will be perfectly fine for the motor, I've heard the spintech as well and I thought it sounded more like a mellower flowmaster without the rasp.

so do you think its worth it?? because the aerochamber is considerably cheaper, and I've heard a lot of good things about it....but the people that have tryed the spintech absolutely love it..so i'm kind of stuck in a bind here..

I get alot of complements on my exhaust note. the cam at idle sounds absolutely awesome through the aerochamber muffler.

Re: Deep Exhaust Note......Straight pipes or Muffler???

I've had many 3" systems, from generic performance replacement, to Flowmasters 80 series to Hookers Aerochamber. Of the 3" systems, the Hooker had the deepest tone.

I later switched to a Mufflex 4" system with the single in/out 30 series Flowmaster. Very, very deep tone. Pretty loud too Anyone who's ever heard the Mufflex systems knows the unique sound.

You'll never get a 3" to sound like a 4" ever, no matter what engine you put in front of it.

Don't worry about the "need for backpressure", or the possible loss of low end torque... I can tell you first hand they are myths. So don't anyone bother posting on the 3" vs 4" issue...

Pretty much the same as any flowmaster on any sbc....they have a deep powerful tone when you are at idle or accelerating, but they tend to pop when decelerating. They are a bit raspy too....
