My opinion is that it is just below the LO3 TBI in performance, if that answers your question, Other people may have different opinions also.

My firm belief is that its garbage. I'd rather replace it with a damn 4bbl.

It was pretty good for it's time.

But that was 20 years ago....these days it just doesn't cut it.

Exactly. If you're happy with a basically stock setup its fine. Fuel injection is cool. But if you want to ugprade it, the crossfire injection just won't cut it. There's very few ways to "upgrade" a crossfire injection setup besides just replacing all that **** with a better intake.

Right. Cross-fire Injection came on '82 & '8 Vettes (350 version)and '82 - '83 Z28's I believe. A dog for performance from what I've read. But I suppose as a stock setup with no hopes for big power than it might be okay.

If you got a car that you want to keep org, & it came with CFI. Find a local vette shop that is willing to keep it tuned. Because once its out of tune its a bytch to get back.

There were a couple of guy's on the now defunked GMforums that did some extensive modifications to the cross-fire manifolds and had some impressive gains over stock,so it can be worked with. However if you want some serious power then changeing it out is the only answer. You might do a search at TGO to see if there is any info on this.

Am I mistaken or did Cross Fire come out for about half a year before GM yanked it for a 4 bbl?

The crossfire was in Camaros from 82-83 & in the Corvettes I do believe as early as the late 70s. But I know for sure that it was in the 82& 84 Vettes.

Na Ya are talking about the LG4 engine which was the 4bb which was dropped after 87 production was over with.

THe LU5 was dropped in 83 & the Lq9 (which was the 4banger) was stopped after the production year of 86.

I ment 83. sorry

I also just checked my Corvette Black book & Yes they did have a Fuel injection in the late 50s to late mid 60s but they introduced what they called the Crossfire yes in 82 I was mistaken to think Crossfire was in the late 70s.

Camaros had Crossfire from 82-83 & the vettes had it in 82 & 84.
