Polished you can keep on year round and not worry about pitting if driven in the winter. Polished wheels can look the same if not better than chrome wheels with a little work

polished is a PITA! get chrome. All you gotta do is clean chrome, but you gotta clean, polish, and seal up a polished rim!

Look at my web page and the 89 IROC wheels are polished. I am polishing my 87 wheels now. The chrome wheels will rust and peel in time. The polished one just need repolished once in a while. You are not going to be able to polish out a chromed wheel once it starts peeling.
I am selling my 89 IROC wheels for $400.00 plus shipping. If interested let me know. If you want the tires with the wheels it is $600.00 plus shipping. There is between 80 and 85% thread left on the tires. If you want pics let me know.
Check out page 8 & 9 for the supercharger install. Don't forget to vote while there.

i personally think it depends on the wheel..........for overall brightness you can't compete with chrome.

as far as upkeep i think they are both just as bad personally, just take care of the wheel and keep it clean and protected. you'll be fine.
