what would you guys consider to be the most logical........

crate engine that meets your budget and power needs??

or

custom engine build that comes close to your wants and needs that is within your budget??


what would you say the advantages of either would be?

 

Lot to consider there, but just a couple of points I would keep in mind would be which has better warranty and which has better parts as in crank, rods, ect... Also I think most crate motors are std. bore and a lot of custom builds are bored out. So a crate motor would probably have more rebuilds left in it.

I went with rebuilt shortblock simply due to price. I couldn't find a crate short or long block that came anywhere near the price of the rebuilt ones. If I could of I would of probably went crate.
