Cowl induction or ram air???????
Cowl induction or ram air???????
Which would flow more air into a carburated C4 corvette engine compartment?
1. Cowl induction with a hood scoop with the back open on it.
or
2. Ram air, with the front of a hood scoop cut out to flow air in like ram air?
I need to know tonight so any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

I would prob. say because its a carb, that the cowl induc. would be better because of the engine sitting more towards the cowl than the front and because of the hood design, I think a Ram air would be more difficult to get more air supply to it oppose to the cowl induc.
Just my opinion

check to make sure there are no hood height restrictions in you area for state inspection. i know that in this area of virginia (richmond) you cant have a hood that is higher than 1-1/8" above where your dash and windshield meet.
then again, richmond laws suck like paris hilton in a home video, so maybe your state's laws are better.

I think I am going to go with the front intake open for the "ram-air effect"
