couple quick ?s

ok,
1 do you know how to adjust the TV cable? the car downshifts as i come to a stop and you can feel it and see the tach go up 200-400 rpm. a guy said it could be that, but he didnt want to mess with it because he didnt know what to do. he also said he has gone through a few trannys because of it.
2 my throttle body wont close all the way, how can i fix that? its open enough to make me idle at 1000rpm in gear and like 1500 rpm in neutral . its open enough that if i just left off the brake i can get it to shift into 2nd gear...
i think thats it for now, but it feels like im leaving something out...thanks in advance

have someone sit in the car and push the gas all the way to the floor. then look on the side of the TB where the throttle cable comes in. there should be a small D shapped button on some of the plastic brackets. push that in.

if the cable is tightened too much it should "stretch out" to the propper lenght. or if it's too long you can take up the slack.

check your idle screw on the passenger side (i think) of the TB. some dumbass may have screwed with it making the TB never close.

could have been done to hide a bad idle...or stalling.

its not the idle screw, ive had the car for 2 years and it just started doing this. I installed a HSR and now it wont close, i think its because we had to bend a part on the tb to make it clear the fuel rail. Im not sure what its called to tell you what i bent though. now the plate that should sit on the idle screw doesnt touch the idle screw, thats why its not closed all the way. i can start the car and push the tb back to close it all the way, but as soon as you touch the gas it sticks open again.
