Corvette Heads

How much better are the aluminum L98 corvette heads than my stock L98 heads(88 GTA L98) I am considering buying some ported and polished aluminum corvette heads to put on my motor. How much am I looking at for these? Thanks.

i have seen them go on eBay for about 350 bucks complete with head bolts, valve covers and the complete head setup. i would suggest going with a set of pro lightning heads. they are a bit more expensive but will flow 10 times better. they run i believe around 700 for a pair and they flow almost the same as the AFR 195's. there is also talk around that you might need to modify your TPI base to fit the vette heads. im not too sure about this so i wont say one way or the other.

Yes the heads have a different intake bolt pattern than 87 and newer heads. They have the 86 and older pattern. So you will need either a Corvette TPI intake manifold, or more preferably, an aftermarket TPI intake manifold. Also, the heads are missing one accessory bolt hole that will need to be drilled and tapped. Lastly, they dont have EGR passages, so if you have emissions testing you will need to hook up the EGR like the Corvettes do.

Do a search on this board for Corvette heads and will you find a ton of info on this often-asked question.
