cooling fans not coming on help

I'd like to know if there's anything else to check besides the fan motor? On my LT1, the 'engine controls' fuse was responsible for the fans not coming on. Thanks in advance.

First thing to do is turn on your AC, and see if that turns your fan on. If it doesn't check your fuse, relay, and check for any disconnected or otherwise screwed up wireing, if thats all good its probably the motor.
If it does turn on pull the connector off the fan temp sensor and ground the wire. If the fan turns on then your problem is the fan temp sensor, if it doesn't turn on then its your wireing, check relays, connections, etc.

Do what pyro said but if the a/c fan doesnt come on Ground out the wire & see if it will turn on with the battiery. My AC fan never did come on when my ac was on. But we grounded out the wires & hooked it to the battiery & it came on with out a problem.

If you do that you might blow out the fan motor, the relay changes the amps to the fan, thats one of the reasons you have it. go to the www.thirdgen.com tech pages and look up total fan control.
what you want to do is ground the wire out with a switch, then you are doing a ground connection, the relay supplies the power so you don't put to much in like krazzycowgirl (wrong move)

Ville H. Valo,
Just to let you know NO matter what we did the fans wouldnt come on. So what we did is hard wired it to the Battery it works just fine & has worked fine for the last 2 yrs. Even after replacing the relays (which are still in the system) & everything else we could think of they still wouldnt come on when suppost to.

But thanks for your option on my car.

That is really cool, but did you re-read what you just said, we are talking about wiring a fan in a car, not jet engines.
you are always amazing me....

you have new relays, so instead of somewhat using them you just bypass them and have the fan run all the time? if your husband is such an amazing mechanic why dosnt he run a ground wire to the relay and break the connection with a switch? so then you could let the car warm up, then flip the switch.
Have a wonderful night/day

If you are suck a wonderful Mechanic please feel free to come over here & show me what My husband, my brother in law & a Mech Shop specializing in Cooling systems on cars did wrong when replacing the relays & wiring the fans before determing that the only way the car would run with fan on would to hard wire them.

One of these days when hes not busy He will most likely do a switch on my car but since 9/11 hes been doing trips for the military. Unless you can tell the Military not to ship him someone that way he has the time to do this. Then things are going to have to wait.

Heck it took him 6 month to install my HSR system because of him being away so offten.

Well in his job its a matter of life & death for Military crews & if they ever found out he made a mistake he could be thrown in jail for it. So he tries NOT to make any mistakes. but he does sometimes on some things.

Installing a fan switch would seriously take MINS. , you might even be able to do it, 2nd thought you probably can't.
