I put a 650 DP and HEI distributor on my 84z28 that had the cc-Q Jet. When I put the car in gear it wants to stall out on me. And wont dle while in gear unless I set the idle t like 1200 RPM's. I cant figure it out. Could it be the converter trying to lockup now that I disconnected the computer. Need help fast! Derek

 

derek, to eliminate that poss. try unpluging the 4pin conn. on the drivers side of your trans. if thats happening, then it should clear up. I doubt thats the prob., but its worth a shot. did the car run correctly before you did the swap? if so, then there has to be something wrong w/the carb, the way the carb is tuned(Idle mixture screws or needle and seat's), or the dist. may have a weak spark at low rpms. are the dist. and carb new? if not, did they work good on prev. car?
