Component Location Manual/Guide
Component Location Manual/Guide
Is there some sort of pdf manual online, or some manual for sale that I can buy that explains what the various components and electronics under the hood, and throughout the car are, and what they do? I'm new to the whole car scene, and I have basic knowledge, but I need to take care of a cracked Y-Pipe and at the same time, I want to take care of my starter issue, change the headers, sparkplugs and wires...I figure all in one shot.
But I want to familiarize myself with all the components so I know how to put them back and get a basic understanding of them, because I'm going to be moving all sorts of crap around to get down in there. I already have a Haynes manual, and that doesnt tell a whole hell of alot.

I think Chilton manuals are much better than haynes. You can go to a large book store and they should have one, and you look at and all the extra stuff in it.
I'd say think about getting a Chilton's manual and keeping this web site in your favorites for when you what to know about some componet.

If a Haynes and Chilton's manual can't help you enough, a factory service manual will tell you everything you need to know. Once you get one, you'll never know how you managed without one. I have all 3, and I use all 3 of them constantly, it just depends on what I'm doing. I got my service manual from Helms, and I paid $75 shipped for mine. The only thing you have to watch out for is the price. They have sales occasionally, but if your manual is print-to-order, it will cost more. Here's a link to their website:
