Clutch Slave cylinders
Clutch Slave cylinders
I'm building an 89 IROC to go road racing in SCCA's American Sedan class. I was wondering, will the 4th gen clutch slave cylinder work in my car with the T5 tranny? The benefit being the stainless steel line instead of the hard plastic one since it will be so close to the headers.
LT1 hydros bolt up but the stainless line is longer and will have slack in it. Just tie it off somewhere so it won't dangle and you should be fine. Also, if you get the LT1 hydros new from GM they come filled with fluid and pre-bled. The LT1 slave cylinder does not have a bleeder valve though.
LS1 hydros will not work, the slave cylinder design is totally different.
It's actually possible to get just the line and fit it to your T-5 master and slave, but it requires slight filing of the fittings at the ends of the line. Might save a little money that way.
