Clutch pedal issue........Please read
While away for the weekend on a camping trip, my clutch pedal decided to detach from the hydraulic piston. I got up under the dash to see exactlt what happened and it appears that the only thing holding the two together is what appears to be a nylon washer with 3 tabs sticking up off of it (I'm assuming there were 3 because only two remain), which was causing the piston thingy to pop off the pedal when pushing it in. I made it home on sunday in 4th cuz the pedal popped when tring to go to 5th, and when I got into town I had to stop, reattach it and ended up shiftin it home w/o the clutch (which worked flawlessy to my surprise). My question is....Is there suppossed to be anything else that attaches to the little nub on the pedal or do the 3 or however many tabs this little ring is suppossed to have, hold it all together.
mine has a small metal clip similar to the one on the throttle linkage, where it connects to the carb/throttle body,
just for the record, my pedals are from an 84 4 cylinder car

Does anybody know the part I'm referring to and if so, the name for it. I went to every parts place available and only NAPA was able to give me a part. I thought the name of the part I needed was a clutch pedal bushing however, what I ended up with was two bushings that are intended to hold the actual pedal into the car. And of course when parts places dont know what u r looking for, the last resort answer is that its a dealer only item. I just cant believe that a litle nylon bushing thingy is a 'dealer only' item. Somebody please help!!
Your best bet is to go to a dealer. Most still have their old paper parts books and those have blow-ups of the parts assemblies for each section. Using those pics you should be able to show him/her exactly what piece(s) you need.
I just ordered 3 of them from www.gmpartsdirect.com for $3 each and $7.95 shipping. My local dealer wants $9.86 each for them. They're not even worth a quarter. Just order GM part #14091384.
I used to replace one every year, so I keep spares. Since I upgraded to a 2800 lb pressure plate, they don't last a week. If you've upgraded to a stiffer clutch, you might want to make a bushing like I did. I used a piece of brass tubing, turned it down to .490" OD, reamed the inside to .435" ID, and cut it to .350" wide. Use this in place of the plastic bushing and use the metal clip from the 4 cyl car like firechicken_3 mentioned.

How long ago was it that you ordered this part? I went to the website and their system cant find the number. The weird thing about all of this is that I've found diagrams of the clutch assembly in an exploded view and none reference this little bushing. They just say to connect the ring at the end of the pushrod to the pedal. This stupid little thing is becoming the biggest pain in the a$$
Ordered them about 3 weeks ago. I just went to the site myself and found them. Towards the top of the home page, in a blue bar, it says "Search by part #". Select "Single Part" and type 14091384 into the box. Hit go. Works for me..... Give it another try.

Finally, I tried it earlier and it kept telling me to fill out a form, but now it works. You said something about a clip to use also, I'm not quite sure what you mean, there wasnt anything else on there but this bushing.
the clip holds the pin in the middle of the bushing I think the 4 cly one has a wider clip from what someone posted earlyer quick91rs has had alot of fun crawling over his rollbar to put in his then it went out the next day so he made one that wont break
The clip is not used with the plastic bushing. Just install the bushing in the m/c pushrod and snap it on the pedal.
