Check Engine Code...

In my 86 Z, it started to through a check engine code. What pins do you have to jump on the code reader to have it flash the engine code? Thanks!

It's the two in the upper right. The connector is under the steering column and slightly to the right. Go to AutoZone. They have the key to trip it with. They gave us one for free.

Once you trip the codes, post em here and I'll let you know what you are.

I looked it up on a web site and it said it was No reference pulses to Electronic Control Module (ECM)...What does that mean?

If the system is normal, why is the light on? How do I get it to turn off? I tried reseting the code (Unhooking the battery), but it came right back on? What should I do? Thanks!

Try it with the engine running. If you trip it with the motor off, you will ALWAYS get 12. It's how you know the ECM is working.

Could it be that it is getting a short which causes it to light up?

True. However there is no feedback to the ECM from the smog unit.
