Is the car stock? Do a search for "first mods." You'll come up with Exhaust, open element, etc.

Cant be stock cause its an 84, and hes claming a 350. If you have decent internals, I would say a shot of nitrous no doubt. Im assuming your carbed? Spend about $400-500 on a nice plate system, then take the other half and do your exhaust. If you do your exhaust and have some left over buy a cam.

yeah, i'd get a nitrous system with all the safty features... if you're not looking to spray, get yourself a bad *** cam, 1.6 roler rockers, springs, etc. headers and an exhaust also if you have money left over. hedman coated 1 5/8'' long tubes sell on summit for around $300... you'd have to get a custom made y-pipe though, and then you're straight

I didn't mean stock like from the factory. I meant like stock manifolds, cam, heads, intake, etc. for the 350.

In that case here's what I would do, in order:

-Full Exhaust (headers, catback, hollow out cat)
-Cam
-Depending on what heads you have now, maybe P/P them

If you can P/P the heads, that would save a lot of money. Then I'd put the rest in the suspension.

Scout around for a used supercharger and later upgrade your EPROM. I would not go nitrous because I feel it could be hard on the engine and if your fuel curve is not calibrated for it, the results could be bad. Besides, with an SC, the power is there always. With NO2, the power is there but so is the bill for the refills as a tank doesn't last very long if you are on it.
