Re: Cel

Just to kinda clear that up. The paper clip should to the top sections of those 2 ports makes a better connection. Also when you turn the key make sure your turning to the IGNITION ON way not backward to just turn the radio on. Dont know if that helps.

Re: Cel

I am not trying to be mean in the least but I am going to put the basics up here.

Turn the key forward to the "ON" position, this is right after the first click. Your lights on the dash should turn on (SES light) and radio etc... Then put the paper clip into the upper two right pins. The fan will turn on and then after a few seconds the SES light will start to flash (once then pause and then two more times, pause, once then pause then two more times). If I remember rightly it will do this a total of three times and then get into your trouble codes. After the trouble codes are done flashing it will go back to flashing 12 or the once pause twice pause deal.

My guess is if you did this and you are not seeing the SES light then someone either pulled the fuse on it or pulled the light out so that it would turn off.

Re: Cel

Ok I went under on my head and checked all the fuses, they are all still good. Engine turns over still but doesnt fire and the CEL isnt coming on with or without the port jumped. I think Ima pickup a GM Code reader when Iget to work if tehre is one and maybe that will work. I still think i might be the timign chain or gears or something.

Re: Cel

have you tried replacing the SES bulb? It's simple I know but they do go out they are just regular #194 bulbs. If the SES light is never on then it's the bulb. If it comes on sometimes your ecm is messed up and needs replaced. With the fan coming on it means the computer is recogniziny activity so my best guess is in fact the bulb needs replaced check it!

If your good you don't have to take the entire gauge cluster out of the car you can just replace the bulb....

"Berlinetta".

Digital dash?

Not sure, but on most models the SES is to the right of the steering column, towards the bottom of the panel.

However, assuming digital dash, not sure where they put it (haven't seen one up close, personally). And, assuming it's a Canadian-delivery model, not sure what the computer may or may not be doing.

Is this a carb'd engine, or MPFI?

Re: Cel

if u turn the key to the ignition "ON" position and the SES light doesnt come on,the light is either blown or someone took it out.

take out the torx bolts that hold the black plastic front piece off around the guage cluster so you can see.

Re: Cel

Not digital dash, analog with full size fuel guage and no tach . But yes, I am working on taking that dash cover piece off and will test the light if there is one there to see if it is toast or not. Its MPFI aswell.

Re: Cel

Ok, there was no bulb, I also bought the GM code reader for simplicity of the fact and I plugged a bulb in, did the one flash, 2 flashes, over and over so I take it there is no codes, Yay.
