CC 306 cam in a 305?

I was just thinking about random stuff yesterday on the drive to North Carolina and thought about yanking the CC306 out of my LT1 and sticking it in my 305TPI.

I was also thinking of putting the LT1 heads, intake and T56 into the formula as well since I am getting another set of those parts soon anyway.

Would the 305 even idle with that large cam in there?
This is the specs on the cam,
230/244 .510/.540 112LSA

I'll say I wouldn't recommend it at all. The 305 would be a poor choice for a new home for that cam....

Stock TPI would too.

It would idle I think, but not the greatest cam for it. I picked up a .500/.515 cam for my 305, and it sounded nice but I regreted the choice later. This was back when I didnt know nearly as much as I do now.

Ya, I probably won't want to go through all that work on the 305. The tranny may go on there though.
