I agree with you, if we can do it others can too! I like the motto on the Texas thing,"So we a can breath it, not see it". I don't think the smog equipment on these cars rob that much HP from our cars and Federal laws require that it be there so why risk a term with Bubba in the big house for a couple-a-tenths of a HP. Yeah no ones gone to the pen for a cat removal (I don't think), but maybe if they inforced the laws everywhere the same, our air would clean-up some. If you don't have strick smog laws where you live that's kewl, but keep in mind that if everyone starts taking off their smog equipment, you soon will, and maybe even tuffer than ours.

Re: Cat delete...smog inspection help

I worked as an emissions inspector when I lived in Houston... by law, we have to check to see if the cat is there, OBD2 or not... and of course, if it's not there, you fail...

Not sure how strict they are outside of Houston, and of course, inside houston, there are shady characters aplenty to get a emissions sticker from...

But yeah... having been a part of the inspection industry... it's less about keeping the air clean and more about charging people fees and writing fines for inspectors who take shortcuts...
