cat-back or true duals???
Like it says
I was wondering which would be better 1) hooker cat-back with a custom y-pipe 2) custom true dual exhaust Just give your opinion:thumb: |
on a small 305 i think you'd lose too much low end with a free flowing true duals.
stick with the 3" catback, throw a cutout on it if you want a touch more power but need a good muffler for the street. guys are running 400+ hp through 3" catbacks without much trouble...your little 5.0 should be fine |
You don't need true duals except to impress ricers.
I ran my car at the track and had no clear set of results as to which was which. I took off the exhaust and kept it in the car from the collectors back and then reinstalled them and ran it and noticed nothing significant. I asked Lingenfelters and he told me that I would not really see any gains unless I was pushing much more than I am. |
Besides all that I mentioned, you will lose ground clearence unless you snake that exhaust around in such a way that it will clear but probably harm your exhaust velocity from all the bends. Also, they will also be regular bends which introduces a crimp instead of mandrel bent which has no kinks.

So i guess what your trying to say is go with the cat-back:confused:

In your case, 3 in cat back and if you were making much more, 4 in.
