Carb
I have driven injected cars all my life and just got one with a carb. General question so that i dont flood anything before starting the car i press the gas once to set the choke then once more to fill the carb with fuel before starting the car?
Re: Carb
the carb gets filled with fuel has the motor cranks and the mechanical fuel pump pumps the fuel in
the slightest tap to the throttle would snap the choke back into place
if you were to press the throttle all the way, u would press the acelrator pump squirting liquid gas into the intake manifold, resulting in poor vaporization and a richer than normal mixture
which i believe is what everyone calls flooding

The owners manuals of most older cars instruct the driver to depress the throttle once before starting.
