Car Running Rich

I just got pillar gauges for my car...I hooked up the Air-Fuel Ratio gauge and it says it is running rich but that's only when I have the pedal to the floor. This is on a 305 TBI with a open element and flowmaster on it....what could be the problem and can I fix it myself?

that's good...
If you mean only wide open throttle, anyways... a little bit richer A/F ratio will produce more power

At WOT you should always be slightly rich. Going lean will cause much more problems than running rich.

If it's too rich, you can try turning down the fuel pressure.
