Call your local performace parts supplier.

You get what you pay for. Cheap mild steel headers will usually rot out and need to be changed in about 5 years. My race car has coated headers and my truck has 10+ year old stainless headers that are still as good as new. Of course both are in the $600+ range but it's worth it in the long run.

Any decent muffler shop can install the O2 sensor hole in the collectors. It is simplicity itself.

My Hooker 2460 shorty headers have the O2 sensor hole and threads installed from the factory and should only cost you about $150 or so. They aren't stainless steel but are very good quality, nonetheless.

I just bought a set of Hooker 2460's off of E-Bay Slightly Used for 173.20 (that price was with shipping included the actual price was 150.00). Just shop around I have yet to have them installed but when I do i'll let you know and give you my opinion on it.

I got my ceramic coated Hedman shorties (1 5/8"-3") from the "For Sale" section of this very board for $150+shipping. I had to spend an extra $10 to have a bung welded in at the shop that fabbed my Y-pipe.

Yup, but 3" collectors are necessary to buy.

Buy the best you can because you will regret buying a cheapo set when you have problems.

Breaking exhaust bolts is always fun. Sometimes you get lucky and there's still a little nub sticking out that you can get a grip on.

Be real careful and use the heat wrench if you have to. Snapping grade 8 bolts in the head is not fun. Anyone else tried using anti sieze on the bolts? Supposedly, according to some hot rod tip, you could use Malox as anti sieze.

Malox as an anti sieze eh? Interesting....

Acid indigestion for the header bolts....talk about multi-tasking. Doesnt just fight stomach acids, it also fights rust!

Something I read about in either Chevy High Perf or Hot Rot where they dipped the bolt in Malox as anti sieze.
