I am looking for answer to why people think that a code 43 is the knock sensor???

I am looking at my book on code 43 and it says:
1.Electronic spark timing circuit - low voltage
2.Electronic spark control - circuit problems

Okay where does it say knock sensor? I am so confused

 

Because the knock sensor reports engine knock to the EST module or in the case of cars with a memcal the EST circuit on the memcal. Take a look at the circuit diagram, it will clear it up for you.
