With ideas like this, do you wonder why you run only 15.1 with all those mods? I don't.

so what are you trying to tell me?, and yes i wonder why the car isn't faster, but what does that have to do with the wiring that i want to take out?

I am just saying that what you have circled are IMPORTANT parts of the electrical system of your car. I can tell that at least 2 of the things circled are relays. Those are important. When those go bad, stuff doesn't work. Pulling them out for no apparent reason seems to be a pretty bad idea. If they are not hooked to anything then I am sure that you don't miss whatever it is that it controls. However if you rip it out and you not have no dash lights, no power to your ECM and no fan control or whatever then thats fine if you don't want that stuff working.... Basically what I am trying to say is go get a manual for your car. Look through it to see what everything you want to get rid of does. If you don't want wipers, then take the whole assembly out. Don't just haphazardly start pulling potentially important pieces of your car out, you will regret it later.

redirocz-28, i understand what you are saying about the relays being important, which is why i am trying to find out what, the ones, i have circled actually control.

i posted the question to the board, because i figured someone here could help, i have looked at the wiring diagrams in my haynes book before, and i get lost in all the lines.

i am still trying to figure out what those relays are, because, the car never had an electric fan, nor does it have an electric pump, the car was originally a carbed v6. or do they have a booster pump of some kind in the fuel tank?

as far as most of the wiring goes, if it is not being used/hooked up, i want to trim it back to the main harness, so that the underhood area looks cleaner,

does the computer control anything other than emissions sensors?,

also what is the purpose of the charcoal canister, ?

The charcoal canister either has two or three vacuum hoses coming from it. One comes from your fuel tank the other goes to your carb. If there is another than it goes to a valve called EFE TVS. It's all emissions. Are you planning to run the engine from the computer? If not than all you need is the basics. If your going full race than all you need is the alternator, starter, and battery. If your staying computer controlled than you should buy the field manual. It will tell you everything about your car. Except the fact that you have a different engine.

the car is street driven, and the computer is not going to be used at all, if i dump the charcoal canister, what do i do with the line that comes from the fuel tank?, can i just plug it, or is it used as a vent

The canister is used to remove the vapors from the tank and burn them using the vacuum line going to the carb/TB. The line going to the tank, in a sense, is a vent so you will have to find another way to vent the tank if you remove it. My fathers 70 didn't have one but my 72 did and there was no real difference between them.
