Can anyone help with a 1983 Caprice?

THe stock 305 is about to go and im wondering how hard it would be to swap to a 350... will the tranny bolt up? does anyone know what kind of auto tranny came in the caprice?

Kinda thinking about fixing this thing up... Not ghetto like..thanks.

In all actuality im not sure... its got an overdrive, if that helps any.

anyone know the size of the rear end and what gears came stock?

I think a built (Non ghetto) caprice with some Mag wheels and the right stance would look really cool.

I don't know about the gears but for the size, get under the car and count the bolts. Probably a standard 10-bolt. Welcome to the board man!

chect the shape of the trans pan, if it is roughly rectangular, it is a 700R4, if it is a real wierd shape, it is (i believe) a 2004R

the car probably has a 8.5" 10 bolt in it
