cam bearings for cc306

i am using a cc306 cam in my current engine build. will standard durabond bearings work fine with this cam or should i have bought the "HP Race Series" bearings? to me- a cc306 isnt exactly a huge "race" cam. just curious as to what others thought. i would assume that most standard aftermarket bearings would be just as good if not better than the gm bearings?

Re: cam bearings for cc306

well- i ended up with the hp series durabond. i called the guy i ordered from just to check to see if my stuff had been sent out- not that i really cared- i am still waiting on the machine shop. anyway- there was a hold up on my freeze plugs- they had ran out of stock- so my order had to wait a couple days. i told him since nothing had been shipped out- i wanted to give him my credit card number and upgrade bearings- just for a little peace of mind- so i would quit worrying. well- he said since no one called me to let me know about the day delay- he would upgrade my bearings for free!!! so- guess i got the best of both worlds- better bearings but and the cheap guy price

Fricken sweet!

I dunno about other people, but I think a cam that pulls to 7K RPM's is a pretty serious cam...especially if its on the street

Re: cam bearings for cc306

i thought it was a pretty standup thing for them (raceparts on ebay) to do. considering i was a 1st time customer that called them up and placed a relatively small order- not to mention the fact that i wasn't even thinking about complaining about the extra day in the shipping time.
