brakes on a 92 rs

so i just agreed to help someone out and do brakes on a 92 rs camaro, i know its a camaro but i have nooo idea how to do back pads, dont i need a special tool to thread that caliper back in. or do they have the mini shoes inside the rotors. is there any special tricks on that back caliper, ive run into problems before on my alero with the rear caliper seiezing on me and having to get it towed to a shop, and did the 92 model camaro come with abs because i know if you compress the rear caliper in with an abs system you run a chance of screwing up the abs sensors, i dont need these problems on someone else,s car, any help would be appreciated,

There is no ABS.

Usually you can spin the piston to compress it on those calipers. Most parts stores sell an inexpensive tool that fits a 3/8ths ratchet that will let you do it with a ratchet and a short (3" or so) extension.

Have fun!

Good point. He said "pads" and I answered for rear disks. But as an RS, it may very well have drums. If so, that is a whole different lesson. (I like doing drums, been at it for years).

maybe its cuz its a truck, it has tons of low end torque but won't ever screech the tires unless you put it into reverse and go into drive while moving back. the only time i can get his tires to spin is in the snow or really bad rain. my car on the other hand burns the tires too easy
