Blazer 700R-4 Tranny??
Hey guys, after doing my 383 swap into my '87 Camaro my original 700R-4 tranny is shifting really slow under full throttle. I am guesses after 180,000 miles behind the original carb'd 305 and 3,000 miles behind the mild 383 has finally killed it.
A friend just rebuilt his 700R-4 tranny for his '86 full size Blazer. Before he was able to install it the Blazer was rear-ended right in front of his house. So, the Blazer is history.
The tranny was build by a shop who has done several trannies for myself, so I trust the work. Since the 700R-4 was going behind a 4x4, he sprung for the full upgrades on the tranny. From what I read, it was updated to '87-'92 valving (does that make sense??), trans-go shift kit, Corvette servo, the works.
Because I need a tranny, I want this one. I can nail it for cheap. The Blazer tranny has a transfer case attached to it. I know this will have to be swapped for the tailshaft that is currently on my '87 Camaro's 700R-4.
Will anything else cause a problem? Will this work for my Camaro? Anything else I need?
Thanks guys, any help is thanked in advance.
