Sorry guys, I'm anti-Richmond. They are noisy. My 3.73 GM gears are as quiet as they get. My 3.42 Richmond's whine somewhat. My buddy's 3.73 Richmond's whine noticeably. My old 4.10 Richmond's whined a LOT!! I'm willing to sacrifice some strength for quiet.

So where can I order a set of GM gears from?

Willie

Hi Willie,

Have you tried GM Parts Direct?

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/

They seem to sell at near wholesale prices. I don't live in the lower 48 so I don't buy there, but their prices seem to be the best.

It depends on how it was set up. I was set up professionally and it was fine. A little whine sometimes but not unbearable.

While at a local tech college, we installed the Richmond Gears per GM instructions and they were really noisy. Took them out and reinstalled per RMG specs and they now whine when cruising at around 45 - 70. Doesn't bother me anyway if I cruise at 80+ (Not saying that I do).

National Drivetrain Eliminator gears are as high quality as the rest. Quieter than Richmonds, too. All gears for 7 1/2 - 7 5/8 GM are $149.95/set.
